Black Belt Test

Saturday October 28th was a day to remember! Congratulations black belts!

Above is 6th Dan Master Greg Gafford performing a fine snap kick. The second picture shows from left to right Kyosanims Melinda Kaitcer, Joseph Benz and Seonimkyosanim Erik Farfan executing slow versions of the side kick. Grandmaster Park says that this type of training strengthens the muscles and allows for better, more powerful kicks at regular speed. Outstanding!

1st Annual United States Taekwondo Grandmasters Society Hall of Fame Awards

This first ever ceremony was held on Saturday, April 22, 2006 6-9pm Hilton Hotel, Fort Lee, New Jersey. Read more in the Taekwondo News and see photos of the event in the Grandmaster Activities media gallery.
The United States Taekwondo and Museum is Hall of Fame is a private, non-profit, educational museum. The mission of the United States Taekwondo Museum and Hall of Fame is to establish a facility which will examine and reveal the history of the ancient martial art of Taekwondo, as well as the Korean culture from which it emerged. The United States Taekwondo Museum and Hall of Fame will feature the Grandmasters and athletes who have served as pioneers in the art and Olympic sport of Taekwondo in the United States.

We are proud to announce that Our Instructors Winfred Harvey and Terry Avery are now 5th Dan Masters. James Skipworth, also of Won Park Institute, has now achieved the rank of 4th Dan. The left picture shows Master Harvey defending against Master Avery. Right is Chief Instructor Skipworth breaking 6 concrete slabs! I'm afraid the photographer got a bit too excited over the whole thing, thus poor quality resulted. A smashing day it was!
